How To Get Your Toddler Ready For School On Time

How To Get Your Toddler Ready For School On Time

Sep 07, 2018 0 Comments

It’s a scene that’s too familiar -- you’re trying to get your daughter to put her blouse on while making sure that she has brushed her teeth. You look over at your watch to see that you have five minutes to leave the house in order to get to school on time. If only there was a way to move things faster, right? We’ve compiled four ways to get your child ready for school without running behind!

Prepare the Details In the Evening
A great way to make the mom & me morning routine process move quickly is to get the details arranged the prior day. Before you begin your night’s sleep, make sure your child’s notebooks and homework are already inside the backpack. Have your back to school outfits laid out for the next day if possible. You’ll notice a difference when these small changes begin to add up and free up your morning schedule.

Make Time For The Most Important Meal Of The Day
Providing your child with a healthy, nutritious breakfast is key to getting the day to a good start. You can’t go wrong with fruits and veggies, and a bowl of whole-grain cereal works as well! Try not to make anything too messy to avoid a children's clothing mishap! This will provide your child with the necessary energy and also help with their attention span.

Have a Schedule That’s Consistent
Getting a routine going can provide a foundation for both you and your child. Having a schedule will help your child have a sense of what follows after they complete a task, and over time you will find that they will begin their routine more independently and in a timely manner!

Make Sure Your Child is Well Rested
Children require more hours of sleep than adults, which is why having a well-rested child makes all the difference throughout the day. This also coincides with having a consistent schedule, as having a normal sleep schedule will allow your child to anticipate when it’s time to go to bed. As a result, they’ll be more focused during the day and have an improved mood, allowing for more quality mommy and me time!
