5 Tips to Make Exercising Easier With Kids
Once you have kids, all that free time you used to have for yourself typically goes to taking care of them. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE spending time with our babies. However, that nine months of baby weight doesn’t come off itself. Finding the time to exercise AND supervise the little ones can be a bit of a struggle, but we are here to help you multitask so you can stay fit and the children stay safe!
Dance Party
Have fun with your kids while sneaking a good amount of cardio in! The best thing about dancing is that it tires the little ones out while also helping you lose a few cals. It’s a win-win right? So have that dance party you’ve been wanting and don’t forget to drink a lot of water as well!
Walk the Dog
If your children have already convinced you to get a puppy, you can use this opportunity to your advantage. Puppies are super cute, but they need to be walked A LOT. Don’t think of this as a chore, but as another opportunity to get your steps in! Soon, you are going to be looking forward to the time when that little pup scratches the door to go out.
Stairs > Escalators
When you see that elevator and are tempted to take it to save some time and energy -- don’t! This is the perfect opportunity to use the stairs and get a mini leg workout in. Think of all the times you could’ve just taken the stairs; that’s a good amount of exercise you are missing out on!
Park in the Furthest Spot
This is one of the easiest hacks that ultimately saves time and keeps you fit! How much time have you wasted trying to find the perfect parking spot? Skip on the search and park in that far spot that nobody wants. Little do they know that this is a great way to get a little extra steps in AND you don’t waste time and gas looking for that closer spot!
Yard Work
Now, this is the definition of killing two birds with one stone. Take your kids out for some yard work fun! Show them how to take out all the weeds or pot new plants. By the end of the day, the yard will be looking good as new and you will have gotten some exercise in while spending time with your kids! Who needs a gym when you have a nice yard to work on?!
